I know this has been probably brought up a ton before but I thought because of the big changes to Lowrance units this year it would be a good time to bring this up again.

I am upgrading locators in my boat this winter. Im going with a 10inch unit at the wheel and a 7-8in unit at the bow, and only really used Humminbird in my boat before.

Can anyone that has used Humminbird in the past and had a chance to use or "play with" the new HDS Gen2 units tell me what you think? I know most of the outdoor first guys all use Lowrance stuff and have some great insight on it. I would like to hear from both sides and why you think you are getting the best bang for your buck with both makes. What has the best features, most reliable, and ease of use.

Try not to get into to much bashing... just want the facts...

Either way you go, you'll be happy. Units of the size your looking to purchase are a serious investment, my suggestion to you is to try and get out with someone who is very familiar with the HDS's and have them go through as many of the features as possible.

You already know my stance and what I prefer, if you have any particular questions I can assist you with, please let me know.
