Last night I raised 3 muskies on one of my Suicks but could not get them to eat. All but one of the muskies I have caught this year on a Suick have hit before boatside. I have caught one on the first leg of a figure 8. What is your trick on figure 8's for Suicks or baits like them. I have not found a triggering trick other than speed or surges with the bait. What works for you???

If you see them coming in a little ways, crank as fast as you can and "pause". She'll either commit or dump you to pitch your wood at her another day []

Let the lure raise almost to the surface about 15 feet from the boat then give it sharp downward twitches till you start the figure 8.That is all I do,hope it helps...

I have most of the fish hit on a boat side rise. If they don’t hit then and do not flash off and will stay with the figure “8”. I like to figure “8” WITH OUT jerking the bait and just a large slow 8 motion.

Um, believe it or not... but I haven't thrown a Suick in over 5 years. When I did use them, I never found a solution to followers. The few fish I did stick on Suicks during a figure 8 have been when using what Bill Schwartz described.... just a smooth circle with no jerks... and rely on the speed to get 'em excited.

| Sounds like some ok tips so far Mike.. Been there and there just isn't a whole lot you can do with a "stick" for boatside maneuvers.
Only thing I have found effective on occassion is to jerk/twitch it in the corners and smooth down the straight away like Bill suggested. I've done this with Burts and it payed off not sure on Suicks.
Good luck dude., if any of this works let us know.
