Random quote: Muskies are nasty. They stink. They taste bad. They are hard to catch and will disappoint even the most devoted angler. The lures required cost more than some women's jewelry. The rods and reels require a remortgage of the house. The boat is always worth more than the tow vehicle. Sure beats the hell out of golf.

I'm wondering what is a good airbrush to buy there are so many options. Like double or single action. Looking for a quality airbrush but don't want to spend the bank on it. Looking for recommendations one what to buy.
Thanks

For an amateur lure maker like myself, I've bought $20-30 airbrushes from Fleet Farm and/or Menards that work just fine.
This is the one I'm using now and it works great for the couple dozen lures I make every winter - going for $35 I guess: http://www.fleetfarm.com/catalog/product_detail/tools/air-tools/dur...

Most importantly, I would make sure it is gravity feed (hopper on top). I've never had good luck with the cheapies that have to draw from a bottle underneath. I run mine off a small 1 gal. coleman pancake compressor (certainly nothing special).

Many of the guys on here have much more sophisticated set ups. I know you could drop $200 on a professional brush and compressor easily.

Check out TCP Global on Ebay for airbrushes. They have some of the best deals out there.

Whatever brand you go with stick with a dual-action gravity-feed airbrush.

double action gravity feed iwata revolution cr.....around 60 bucks or so online....other brands are junk. This is a good entry level brush.

get a smaller compressor from sears, lowes, or hd.

Ditto on the gravity cup Iwata recommendation.  If you don’t want to start out with a higher end model with a pre-set handle, then this accessory will make you a better painter http://www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/iwtrachasetw.html

If you have a Hobby Lobby store near you, check out the Neo Iwata dual action gravity feed. It's $59.99, but they have been offering 40 percent off coupons on their website..........this brings the price down to around $35. I just started using one about a month ago and it's the best brush I've ever used.

Well guys, I have to say it is all a matter of personal taste and what an individual intends to do with it. I personally use the siphon brushes and they are ALL badger.
I have. as most of you know, painted commercially for years and I mean for the big boys.
I have painted tens of thousands of lures and they were all done with my badger siphon feeds. I use badger 250's, 350's and cressendo 175's. I had originally chose Badger as they have a lifetime warranty, and my only cost for a rebuild or replacement was the shipping cost to get them there. They returned them to me at their own expense.
I will continue to stick with Badger and that is my own personal taste. I have no regrets and no complaints. I am not knocking down any of the other airbrush companies either.

Pasches are a good starter. I have 3 Iwatas, all different, and 2 back-compressors. The 2 comps and Iwatas came here from the buy/sell/swap forum from guys who tried and gave up....perhaps too early.
