| I don't believe there are any muskies in KS. I checked the list of species stocked in KS and there's no records for muskies. The closest areas would probably be Nebraska and New Mexico (tigers).

Pomme de Terre north of Springfield Mo. is about 3-4hrs away from Wichita.
It might be your best bet for Muskies,....Nice lake,,,, I spent a week there about 6yrs. ago.
I also worked in Wichita for Boeing,Cessna,Lear Jet, and Raytheon as a contractor back in the 90's
Watch out for the Twisters in the Spring.

| LOL, I turned down a job in Kansas just last year because I couldn't live without muskies. Was more than double my salary and still couldn't do it!
Fortunately nowhere to shop so the wife didn't even put up a fight either.  |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | There are quite a few lakes in Missouri that are stocked with muskies. Check their DNR's site and you can see which ones may be close to you. Either way you're going to be driving. One more reason why I won't let my wife take a job down there with the Mothership. |

| good day; in the 70's fish&wildlife stocked muskies in maybe two lakes;
The one I know of is Council Grove reservoir. it was done as a way to reduce
unwanted rough fish (I think). Anyway the state record was caught in the late
1970's. the program never caught on as a sport fish |

Location: Indiana | Thanks for the info so far, I was afraid that was the case. Is the Northern stocking still active? That would be better then catfishing. It looks like regardless of what species I target I will need to learn new tactics. As the fishing seems to be quit different then Indiana. The deer hunting side is much better though so maybe it will work out. |

| I was born and raised in Kansas and there are no Musky in the state. There is some good bass and walleye fishing. The hunting is great from deer, turkey and bird hunting. |
