Been on LOTW for 10 years but have always been up there from the beginning to the end of July. Fishing dark stained areas in the central region. This year I cannot make it until the last week of August and was wondering what to expect other than the fish moving more towards the rock structure and the possibility of the bloom.

I wouldn't overlook weeds that time of year on LOTW..there is a movement of fish back to the weeds most years from my experience as water temps drop. You might not get the numbers of fish like july but great time for big fish and very little pressure...good luck.

It's not only a great time for muskies but we usually see an influx of big pike coming in from there open water summer haunts at that time. The only down side is that nightfall comes alot quicker as you head towards Fall.

There will still be fish in the weeds. I find that at that time of the year you need to find the green weeds. Coontail tends to stay green longer so will be a better bet. The bloom moves around with the wind, so you can find places to fish.

without any up to date info, i would fish 4 rocks spots to every 1 weed spot to begin with. then work off what i'm seeing based on that. proven spots will hold fish even with some bloom...take extra time for a full 8 or two with poor visibility on spots proven to hold fish in the past, regardless of time of year.
