My anti-reverse is giving me problems especially on hook sets. Anyone out there have similar problems? Advise would be great. Thanks

Posts: 133 Location: Wausau, WI | Try cleaning out all of the old grease and oil out of the main drive bearing (the one in the side plate). Add just one or two drops of oil to the bearing once the old grease and oil is cleaned out of it. I actually just sent mine in today to Dave's Reel Service because it was getting beyond the point of just cleaning the old grease and oil out.

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | On a Shimano Curado 300E that reel has a Anti-Rev Pawl make sure that is OK if the A/R Bearing has slip U will need to replace it. On the new one make sure all the factory grease is removed and 2 drops of CORROSION X Lube, DO NOT GREASE THE A/R BEARING. Also I would replace the A/R Sleeve and U should be good to go for next year.

I think I may have greased the A/R bearing. Is the A/R bearing also called the "Roller clutch bearing"? My AR pawl looks to be fine but i'll go ahead and replace it. Where can I find parts.

Fixed it. I didn't get it cleaned as good as I thought. I had left it out in my truck over night in sub 30 degree temps, picked the reel up the next morning and nothing worked. Figured it was grease that was stiffened up and sure enough thats what it was.
