Location: Oak Lawn, IL | Thanks guys. I've been making these for almost 6 years, I just started playing around with the metal flake/metallic paint and metallic type blades. Here's one of many my buddy caught last year on the larger size. Guest - 1/18/2012 8:50 AM

Great looking spinnerbaits!
I assume guest's question was about durability of looped eye. Did you use 051 wire form ? |

Location: Oak Lawn, IL | Thanks. I use .040 on the 3/4 and .045 on the 1 1/8. I think the thinner wire allows for better vibration. Of the 700-800 I've made over the years, I only know of 3 of the .040 wire that failed....and those are on baits that should have been retired. They're not bulletproof, but they will last for multiple fish. The biggest fish (that I know of) caught on the .040 wire was a 51" last Summer on Eagle Lake.
