I kept muskies about 10 years ago...same thing happened. Fish came right up out of the tank, but ended up getting back into an area that I could not easily reach... darn thing was facing head-down in between a narrow slot between two studs in the wall (in-wall tank). Surprised it survived...
How big is it?

| Back when I had a roommate we had a fish tank and once put a 10" pike in it. Went to bed that night and woke up the next morning and he was laying on the floor, stiff as a board. Somehow he jumped out of the only very small part of the tank that didn't have a cover over it. Kind of a bummer |

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | We used to have a largemouth bass that was a blast to have in the tank with the muskie. It would come and play a the glass with us, and feeding time was really funny to watch. That darn fish would catch multiple minnows and many times would not be able to get the entire length of all of the minnows it had caught in it's mouth.
At one point we were buying small suckers for the fish (the muskie was 18" long and the bass close to 12"). We would buy a few suckers and would work to adjust them to the tank water temp. The muskie decided it wanted to eat and tried to eat one of the suckers inside the bag... Bit the bag and held on...
Fun watching them eat, though...

| Had a 10" bullhead once that would come grab minnows out of your hand if you held them at the suface, but only if the tank light was off, whenever the light was on he just layed on the bottom |
