| New to the musky game. Seen a few shows where they are trolling for the brutes. Why do they put the rod tips down under water when trolling for Musky? From what I know, most musky trolling lures don't have a problem getting down to the proper depths.

| It's all about catching the weeds also long leaders with a 3 inch tag at the beginning of the leader to further catch more weeds.
Sometimes you could use a hook with the points cut off as well at the beginning of the leader.

| All of the above,... and sometimes it helps with "spacing" your lures out so they dont tangle up when running more than one rod of the side. |
