Subject: What replacement netting should I choose ?

Location: Ontario
My net has very coarse knotty netting and I like to replace it with something soft that will be "musky friendly"

I will not mention any brands but can you guys please point me to the right material ?
Black Polyethylene
Super Heavy Black Poly
PVC Coated Super Heavy Poly
PVC Coated Knotless Nylon
Weighted Black Nylon

And one more question, should I get 36" or 48" deep bag
My hoop is about 26"x32"

Thanks
Chubs

Go with a coated for sure. Knotless if you can find it. I'd go with the 48" bag even on your smaller hoop. Might not be ideal, but the extra room in the net is nice if you get a big one. When I started out I just had a regular net I got at Kmart or somewhere. Quickly figured out that I needed a hook-proof one. So then I put a 48" Beckman replacement coated bag on it ($60) which are pretty good . So now I had a nice net bag on a crappy hoop which quickly became apparent, so I bought one of those BPS catfish nets ($48) 36" by 32" hoop and put the bag on it. Much better, but it still ain't a Frabill Big Game. I don't know how good your hoop is, but if it's not too great, and you can afford it, consider getting a whole new net. Once you start trying to save a buck or two on nets, you wind up spending more than you think, and you wind up with an expensive, but only decent, net that you're only semi-satisfied with.

Thank you very much for the reply!
My net is Frabill and I'm happy with the quality except the netting material.
It always left marks on fish to the point that I was avoiding using it.

Merry Christmas everyone!
