I have one of the same rods, its a great stick when the reel seat isnt broken, broke the first one after 2 months, contacted Reaction Strike, had to send the rod and 20 bucks for shipping back for a replacement. I broke the replacement this summer in the same spot, top of plastic reel seat will chip out. for a temporary fix some zip ties and some electical tape did the trick. I'm going to take it in so see if someone can put a different reel seat on the rod or might just replace it myself if i can find everything or else i now have a great sucker rod every fall.

Yes U can that but then U have to install a spacer and I have never been able to keep the reel grip from coming loose after a year or two of use. Both ways alot of work. With so many new rods that are under $150.00 today Y mess with it, unless it is a custom rod.

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | I use rod bond as my glue and it is thick and hard to get in to fill the hole, poly shims or tape. Someone told me Gorilla Glue will expand and fill the hole, I have to try it.

Posts: 424 | Once it happened to me. I disassembled cork grip and reel seat with a hot air gun (paying attention to the temperature). After removing the handle and reel seat, I put cork handle back , replacing the reel seat with a new one. As spacers, I used spacers made with gummed paper tape/masking tape (used by coachbuilders and luthiers) and I glued all wiht epoxy glue. esoxone

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | 1) IMO give the warranty a try. 2) If the rod is not that important to you then give it a try and fix it. You might learn a little and have fun. www.mudhole.com has about everything you will need. 3) If you really like the rod and do not want to "learn" on it send it to a rod builder. JMO James
