| Just got back from the northwoods, and really would like to erase this weekend from my fishing history. I took my small boat north to fish some rivers as turnover has taken hold of my lakes, and I though the rising water would be good. Well, the rising water made a normally 9 hour float, last five hours on Sat. Friday night my girlfriend and I fished the big Chip. I headed to a narrow spot that had lots of hard structure, and little wind to deal with. I immediately tripped over my tackle box as I went to cast and fell on my trolling motor, completely busting the head(controls/tiller) right off. We went to Walmart and I bought a new one, and on the way to the cabin, the ropraider on my custom built 7'6" Loomis(my very favorite rod, that my friend Ryan built two years ago for me) hooked the trolling motor box as it slid forward making it a 7'er. I went to grab a spare rod, and noticed that one of the guides was missing the instert. The next day we started drifting, and as my girlfriend went to check the sucker, she left her crane bait hanging over the boat where it hooked a branch and puled the whole rig over board and sunk(luckily we found it). I finnally boated a fish, and I though my luck was changing, then my girlfriend lost a 28-30" Walleye on the crane bait, AAARRGGGHH.
On the way home today, I decided to stop at one of my good shore spots and take a few casts. I slipped on the muddy bank, got full of mud, and got lots of clay and muck in my good reel.
At least we made it home safely, and it was still better than work I guess!!!
anyone else have a not so good weekend lately??? |

| I have had some crappy weekends but not this year.
Jason, at least you did not meet some agry viqueeen fans in any bars this year.[]
We boated 4 but we did manage to break the tip off of one of our trolling rods. Not all was perfect. |

| I've always found that the day's like that usually produce the biggest fish, but only if you keep your cool... [:knockout:] |

| Actually, it can be a matter of comparison. Things can always be worse! The big 'eye getting away realy sucks, though.
With weekends like the one you had, it will be easy to tell u have a good one![] [] [;)] |
