The biggest threat to the welfare of a tanker muskie are skilled muskie anglers.
Or someone fishing for Walleyes. |

| what comes to mind to me is lakes in the nevis and park rapids area in mn, some of theses lakes are listed in the books as muskie lakes but the muskies are long gone, or they dont have a even close to fishable population in them. Some of them I believe do not have a single muskie left. If cpr was mandatory this may not be the case! |

In the interest of accuracy, that just is not true if the mount was done correctly by a talented taxidermist. I had a few mounted in the 70's and early 80's, and they look like the day I picked them up. If a fish dies and doesn't release, a skin mount by a reputable taxidermist will last a lifetime. |

| Thank you for the truth about skin mounts Steve. Not all skin mounts are done properly. As Steve has said, a properly done skin mount WILL last a lifetime and beyond.
