Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | If I were in your shoes I would see what St. Croix would do. If you are buying a new rod, I would strongly recommend you check out the Tackle Industries rods. I bought an 9 'XH Telescopic split grip and it is almost the only rod I used this year - seriously! It does very well with Cowgirls. Casts them well and doesn't load up like crazy in the 8. Casts Mag Dawgs or Hard Heads great, and even does a very good job of lobbing Pounders. I think next year I will buy one of his solid 9' XXH rods to really launch and rip Pounders. I've used more expensive rods, and really feel like the TI rods are the best I've used. Love the one I have. Tucker

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I have another shipment of rods coming in towards the end of the month, now selling my true 9 ft. rods for $100.00 plus shipping. These are not XH but just a Heavy, yet were designed to bomb pounders as well as other big blades and pretty much any other baits you want. Check them out!

Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | FYI, St. Croix shipped me a brand new rod which seems to feel even better than the first. I already boated 2 fish with it this weekend. Thanks again for all your input.

Posts: 152 | Ti xxh are as heavy as you will ever need for pounders , He told me that he designed them for throwing 2lb swimbaits !!!!!! TI rods are as good as you will find for $120 and he is a really super guy do deal with . Ti rods are the best value in the industry hands down !

Location: Northern Wisconsin | I agree with most. I bought a TI 9' XH tele rod earlier in the summer and have really liked it for a pretty much every lure I threw. Didn't throw pounders with it, would probably need the xxh. I will be adding more TI rods to my arsenal soon though.

Posts: 203 Location: Minnesota | Have two XXH Tackle Industries rod that I have used way more than the custom Predator... Basically I use the XXH for everything except WTD topwaters and gliders/jerkbaits... I wouldnt trade anything for my two XXH rods... absolutely LOVE them... James really outdid himself with his rods and you cant beat the price he has them selling for!!! I even used them for my recent sucker fishing outing and got 3 muskies (40, 43, and 44) in the net... Am looking forward for James to come out with live bait rods that would be perfect for falltime sucker fishing...
