| Hey I've been making my own flouro leaders in 130lb. was wondering if any of you guys are making any in 60lb. I have never had one of mine fail and was thinking that 60lb might be a good option for those small spring gliders and twicht baits. Just thought I would throw it out and hope for a response. thanks |

| I think 60 maybe too light, I never thought a musky would cut through an 80# leader and last Friday that happened on a weagle. Fish exploded on the bait, line got tight, I set the hook as hard as I could and ping!! Nothing, a second later the weagle came popping out of the water, I am trying to get a picture loaded on the site but have yet to do so. Just like a razor, clean cut. 60 maybe just to light in my opinion. |

| 60 is way to light, 80 is way to light...I wouldn't use anything under 130, and prefer 150. Also, be sure to use a GOOD and HIGH QUALITY flourocarbon, not cheap stuff. No reason to use anyting other. I use 150 on everything. Why risk it? Why use anything but 150 or above???? No reason to. |

| I've been tying and using my own 60 lbs. flouro leaders for 5 years now and never had one fail. It's important to check for frays after you catch a fish. I never use one that has any frays in it. Mike. |

| maybe check out the american fishing wire brand surfstrand micro supreme. it's a super flexible, super thin 49 strand wire. i have been using the 90 lb camo color for years now for the types of baits you describe and it has worked great for me... |

Location: Racine, Wi | I'd be more apt to go this route as well (lighter wire as stated above). I've had fish bite through 80# as well so I have no doubt you'll eventually get bit off with 60#. If you're using it in the springtime with baits that are more erratic, you're asking for trouble as at some point, a fish is going to get a good shot at the leader and cut right through that. Thin wire will be solid for you and allow you to maintain good action on smaller baits. |

Location: North/Central WI | I've seen them bite through 100 lb fluoro like it was 6 lb mono...60 is way too light and you will get bit off eventually. Probably by a nice fish... |
