Hey guys I have a 2004, 200hp V-Max with about 700 hrs on it.

Just recently as I put the hammer down, as in hole shot,.... the motor will miss real bad and almost kill the engine, until I let off of the throttle then it runs fine.

Will changing the fuel filter, plugs, and air cleaner solve this problem?
I have changed the plugs and fuel filter every other year but not this year yet.

Any tips ?

Thanks, Jerome

Do you run ethanol free gas? Do you run a fuel additive? How long has the gas sat in between fill ups? My suzi did the same thing after it sat with unstabilized gas in it, turned out to be injectors, and seals in the fuel regulator. I'd definitely try the filters, and plugs, and hope it isn't something worse.

I had that motor, and there's a couple of other things to check as well that they're known for. I sent you a PM.

Well it turns out that the fuel pumps were wore out and the o2 sensor was shot, along with a secondary fuel filter and the screens for the injectors needed to be cleaned.

It was cheaper to get new pumps than to have the old ones rebuilt..

Thanks for the info, Esoxfly.
