I need to buy and install a new Sonar/GPS unit and could use a little advice. The former setup consisted of a couple older Lowrance units with transducers mounted on each corner of the transom as attached pics will show.

I'm thinking about purchasing a unit with down imaging and was wondering if the transducer was installed on one of these corners - which already have transducer mounting plates installed - if the down imaging capability quality would be affected by any interference from the motor?

I would consider a SI unit but my available time for research and installation is very limited. I'm not sure if it's quite feasible to install SI transducer in an appropriate spot towards the center with the other "things" present..lol...was looking to spend less than 1k...I would spend more on a SI unit if I knew it would get installed and work perfectly - the first time. With the little time I have to fish and work on boats the risk is probably not worth it.
Any advice is appreciated!!
