it will stop scrolling then shut off after 15-20 secs...been to the lowrance site and tried all of there troubleshooting tips, correct software download, soft and hard reset and enabling shallow water mode. i also have a new battery...anyone familiar with these problems?? we did find that it worked fine at night for a few hours after having it shut down numerous times in the hot sun..i also ran it with the gps off and it did the same thing..in the day. and i do have my ship to shore hooked up to the same battery..maybe interference..? then i tried to email lowrance and their site wont even let my emails go thru.

Typically if your unit is shutting off, it's either the battery isn't holding a charge or you have loose connections. If your having issues with your email not going through, call Lowrance. You may have to send the unit in.

Put a wet towel over the unit in the hot sun, and see if it runs longer. I had an X-85 that would do the same thing in the hot sun. Ended up putting a sun shield over it to keep the direct sun off of it. Heat is the enemy of all electronics. Sometimes the the heat just causes a component to fail.
