which creepers have you had best results from using? i have had the most action on a hi fin, not jointed, solid single body creeper.
i have not had much luck on the "nicer" hand built ones from custom tackle makers.
which creepers have you had the best luck with? not your favorites to collect…
jointed? or single body? brand? size? type?

I have a BS willy I really like. Not sure if the new company makes it, but the muskies like it allot.

Brad just sold the One Eye. He still owns his creepers.....getting him to make one is the hard part.

His creepers are hands down the best.....it's all in the wings.

Honestly, i have a ton of creepers and my 1992 black one piece Hi-Fin creeper has caught the most by far. #2 creeper is the Hi-Fin bullfrog. The rest just don't get the strikes...?

These bad boys have all caught some nice fish but the little chart dot has the most by far.

Take a look at Lee Lures "Hot Wings" too. I think I like it better than the creepshow myself, and it has a good hooking percentage. If you can find a BS Willy creeper of any sort, any of them will catch fish.

The Hot Wings creeper is nice. Also like the Lil' Creeper & Creeptonite (not made anymore). Lelure creepers are nice too, but the wings are thin and will bend after a nice mauling.

Check out the Tyrant Tackle Dictator creeper. Its only $15.99 retail. Solid poly styrene through wire construction that will hold up to several fish. The big wings are easy to tune and retune after a fish. You can tighten up the wings for a faster retrieve or spread them out for that slow deadly plop! Boated a couple nice fish on them already this year!

Old lelure fetch and catch and Joel Wick for jointeds and Rylure straights here. The chattertail straight has been quite good once I adjusted the wings to get the proper action for my liking at a slower speed(haven't used the jointed much yet as only so much time..) . I've seen where the really noisy creepers, if not getting much action up on the skinny, are a touch better on the deeper edges, with the straight regulars or straight flap tail creepers, or more subtle jointed creepers better in the super shallows. You can normally adjust an individual to get a desired situational action, but I prefer to keep certain ones tuned for the job at hand.

Finally, there are a couple of creepers that I really like that I can no longer find. One was made by Even Kolsted and one by Garrett Tesch. They both made a sweet jointed creeper and I enjoyed working with both, customizing individual lures to get desired action. If anyone knows how or where to contact these two guys, please drop me a pm or email. I'd like to see if they still make lures. Both were from WI, and its been 6-7 years since I talked to either.
