Posts: 267 | Howdy, I am a long time reader and infrequent poster with a problem I was hoping you could help me with. I currently have some discounted reservations (4 weeks total) at Vermilion Dam Lodge on Lake Vermilion that I am trying to fill. Please read on as you may be interested or may know someone who can help me out. Thanks in advance for assistance. This year I planned to spend my fishing season on Lake Vermilion in MN at Vermilion Dam Lodge http://vdl.com/rates.html. The plan was to do 6 weeks from the start of the season until the end of October. I was able to negotiate a sizeable discount on the cabins for those weeks and prepaid 100% in order to get it all taken care of before summer came. Since then I have been going through some personal health issues that will make going extremely difficult. While the camp owner has been great in trying to refund some of the later dates, there remain 4 weeks that were paid in full that can’t be refunded because of the short notice and the business that was declined because of my bookings. The weeks are listed below: July 2-9 Fisherman Quarters West July 23-30 Fisherman Quarters West August 13-20 Fisherman Quarters September 3-10 Fisherman Quarters West The cost for any of these weeks, regardless of the cabin, is $659.40. That includes everything (taxes, docking, etc.) Ed Tausk, the owner, has been very helpful through all of this and has agreed to charge anyone from Outdoor First who is interested in any of these dates the same rate I negotiated ($200-$400 off depending upon the cabin and the seasonal rate) so that he can reimburse me for those weeks. For the owner it’s going to be a wash as the cabins are already paid for (at a lower rate than usual) even if they sit empty for these weeks. For me, however, it would allow me to avoid a $2,637 loss on top of everything else I’m going through. PleasePM me if you’re interested and thank you in advance for all of your help. Take care, Ruddiger

Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | Those are some good prices folks at a very good location. That location puts you near the middle of Vermilion and within range of some very good spots. The resort also has a boat down below the dam in the river and there are Muskies there too. Wish I had the time because I sure wouldn't mind checking out that part of Vermilion. Great blueberry picking in that area too. Just a suggestion, but you might want to put this on the "Buy, Sell, Trade" forum. Edited by Herb_b 7/8/2011 11:39 AM

Posts: 7 Location: Roseville, MN | I have also tried to pm him a couple times, but messages were never sent, they just stayed in my outbox? Maybe that's a completely different issue, but I would still like to know what the status is on the available weeks. Thanks, Ole

Posts: 267 | Hello, I was out of town last week for personal reasons and did not have access to the computer so I apologize for not getting back to people sooner. I sent out PMs earlier this evening but don't know if they were received as they seem to be sitting in my out box and not my sent box. For those that are interested, assuming you don't get my PM, please call me at 419-303-8029. That is my cell and you can ask for Ruddiger. At this time ALL of the weeks are still open so the best way to book them is to call VDL directly and ask for Ed Tausk. He will handle it from there and I will be more than happy to assist. Again, I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Also, if I am not sending a PM correctly please let me know as I am trying to get them out but may be having some technical difficulties. Thank you, Ruddiger (419) 303-8029

Posts: 267 | Howdy, First I would like to thank all of you for your interest and for booking some of the weeks that were posted. At this time, between traffic from here and WC, I have been able to fill all of the weeks except September 3-10. Please contact Ed Tausk at VDL if you are interested in this week. THANK YOU to everyone for all of your interest and help, I greatly appreciate it. Take care, Ruddiger
