I am looking for a pair of new boots that offer support as I need a good pair 'cause as I get older (not that I am), my back feels it when I wear cheap shoes or sandals in the summer.

With so many options, what do you think offers good support?

I don't think the brand of boot will really make that big of a difference. But if you are looking for a brand name, I've always liked Rocky boots.

Buy a decent pair of boots, and then go out and buy the cushion support insoles. They are sold at all sporting good stores. This should give you all of the support you need.

Red Wings rule! My work shoes are Red Wings and have lasted longer than any other shoe I have had. I bought a pair of tennis shoes there too, they are not the Red Wing label but great support and very light.

Checked out the Red Wing site, but their search doesn;t have the name function. Any idea what the model # on some of these you have mentioned?

Tahoe,

Search Cabelas.com for "irish setter" and you'll find 'em. Search for "receptor gore-tex" and you'll find the shoes I got a couple months ago. I like them; they're comfortable and solid and waterproof.

"Down here" we use those big Wally Mart fuzzy bedroom slippers; buy them 2 sizes too large + stuff them w/ newspaper/straw when it gets cold![:0]

Tahoe -

You might try again. It's still workin' but may be slow on the search engine. If it helps, item #'s are:

IC-822140 for the Irish Setter Gore-tex low cut. $120
IC-822141 high cut. $130

QN-822122 for low cut Ecco Receptor Gore-tex. $99.

Not cheap, but incredibly dry!

Speaking of Jesus, does your Walmart shoes let you walk on water Sponge?[:)]

My faith isn't strong enough yet to walk on water, but the slippers do come w/ small plastic pontoons! If I fall overboard, I squeeze myself + then paddle to the trolling motor for boat re-entry... I do know this, had it NOT been for Jesus, I'd have probably lost everything I have or worse!!! [::)]
