| Right now I'm still using my carhart bibs and a carhart jacket in the cold musky fishing weather. But they are pretty bulky and not rain resistant. I'm jus wondering what you guys use for that type of gear because I'm looking at buying some but I would like the best bang for my buck seeing as they are pretty expensive for came bibs and jacket. |

| This topic gets discussed a lot. Stick with the name brands and gor-tex products and you should be fine. If you're buying strictly for cold weather conditions get insulated gear, if you are buying for year round protection buy un-insulated and dress in layers. |

Location: Roscoe IL | Wool socks are key, once the feet get cold its over for me. I bring a change of gear and keep one in the truck for those heavy rain days. Once it lets up a little or stops I switch up, with dry boots as well. A Standard Gortex jacket and Bibs from Gander do the trick, but layer up underneath. Looking forward to the cold water season! |

| right now is the time to get them I just purchased new bibs last week gaunder mt. had all there fall rain gear 40-50% off. Sheilds in eau claire also has a sale on there stuff now. |

| Just picked up the Frabill FXE. Pricey suit, but will do well with layers underneath for the fall. I was out in a driving rain, i mean pouring where you couldn't see 50 ft in front of you and i was dry and fished right thru it. Its a great suit, worth the price. |

| Just make sure its Gore-Tex and you"ll be fine. Cabelas is closing out all their Pro Guide Rain Gear right now. Its good stuff and the sale prices are awesome. |

Location: Elgin, IL | Yep, thanks for the heads -up regarding Cabelas GuideWear. Just picked up the 300 parka XXL Long for 129.00. I wore my other one out. Great stuff.
But it's close-out on the internet only, I went to buy the parka "live", and it was 269.00 plus tax. I had to go home and order it online to get closeout pricing, and pay .50 in shipping. Strange.....but I'll take it.  |
