Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | Is there anything on the market that slows the pace of rust. My 2005 crewcab Silverado with only 40,000 miles is starting to show rust in the seems under the doors. Has anyone had any luck with a product on the market that stops or slows this process down?

| Isnt it still under warranty?
This is a similar product to what my dad used for years when restoring cars. It converts rust and applies a protective coating. http://www.theruststore.com/Rust-Converters-C10.aspx?UserID=1229375...
On a side note, the reason you are getting rust there is the water is not properly draining from the bottom of you door, before doing any type of treatment, make sure you address this issue first or it will just happen again. |

| Our Body Shop at Phillips Ford (and most other body shops) will apply spray-in bedliner material on the rust spots. Rocker panels are common to rust out. We see bottoms of doors to be very common. We normally spray from the front of the truck (just behind the front wheels) to the back of the truck (to the rear bumper). The strip we spray is usually only about 8 inches high so it looks like a two-tone paint job. |
