| Big muskie was caught and killed and is awaiting certification from the state as a possible state record. Doesnt even look close to a mid 50lber. This will be his 4th muskie mounted. Here's a link to the Grand Forks Herald.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I talked to the angler a few days after the catch. He did say he tried to release the fish for quite some time but was unsuccessful. Unless someone was there and witnessed the catch and attempted release and can confirm the contrary directly to us, that benefit of the doubt will be extended here.
The fish was reportedly weighed on two scales, which according to our conversation were not certified. One weighed the fish at 50#, the other, according to the conversation we had, at 51 pounds. The length was witnessed by several people.
It's up to the State to decide on any record requirements the fish might or might not meet.
I am awaiting images and the entire story.

Location: Maple Grove | Beautiful fish. Too bad it died. Although that fish is not the biggest caught even in the last few years in MN. The others were successfully released without a record try. Does the state of MN even keep a length record? It's obviously not a state record by weight.
