I know there was a lack of interest in a tournament trail in MN after Hartman got out of doing his tournaments. But I look on the tournament forum and it's crazy how many tournaments are in Wisconsin, when Minnesota has so many good muskie lakes.

You'd think MN could support at least one? No?

Not just "good muskie lakes", because Wisconsin has those too... so many good BIG FISH destinations that draw from all over the country. I'm a tournament angler, but I also think the lack of tournaments here in MN is only helping to protect our natural and stocked populations of muskies. Would I fish the MN trail again if it came back? Absolutely. But I'm fine with our premier fisheries NOT getting beat to death once a month by 200+ anglers too. Like I said... I am exploring the other side of the debate on this one...

Tournaments don't seem to be of interest to many people in MN. I think if you look at the general tournament attendance in MN over the last 10 years I think it's probably declining. A lot of people were sick of giving their money to some of the top guides and others want to fish when and how they want to rather then what's dictated by the event. I personally only fish the MI ones now for those reasons.
