| All I'm looking for is the recent water temps on either lake. Thanks in advance. |

| Haven't been out in awhile but I usually check this

maybe somebody can confirm its accuracy... |

| i'm not completely positive, but i think the Monona USGS gauge is in Brittingham (Monona) Bay - a shallow bay closed off by bridges with little wind or water movement compared to the main lake. as such, it tends to read higher water temps than out in the open areas of the lake.
the USGS has gauges at storm sewers, creek inlets, etc. as they're mostly interested in measuring flow and water height.
can anybody confirm/deny the location of that gauge?

Location: Madison WI | I just got back from Monona with a friend, surface temps were hovering around 78-79 at 5 pm, they had dropped to about 76-77 at 1 am. Air temp when we left was 72, I would be extremely wary of fishing Monona for the next 5-6 days unless the forecast changes, we are expecting highs of 92-97 with lows in the mid 70's for the next week. |
