Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I've seen marks like that from fish that jump and wrap up in the line for a short period of time, but can't tell from the image for sure. NICE Muskie, Herbie!

Posts: 1887 Location: syracuse indiana | yes its from the fight, had one that we saw clearly last year at the boat and it didnt have the marks then did a full twisting jump and when she hit the net it had those marks, just think the superline will cut into your hand when tying a knot or getting it wrapped around your hand , so it will do the same on a fighting musky with alot more power put to it to get away, not just u tightning up a knot....bill Edited by archerynut36 7/3/2011 3:53 PM

Posts: 68 | Those are the same things I have heard. Makes sence. I also heard that running your braid over thier back while trolling can cause a mark/slice if they are to slow to move, but that seems kinda far fetched. ?? Thanks for the input guys.

Posts: 90 Location: Ohio | So if the lines are from a fish wrapping up during a fight do the lines stay there forever or disappear over time ? Is it just where the slime is taken off and disappear when new slime gets on the fish? I am just learning about muskie fishing and have no idea
