Posts: 311 Location: Ontario | We're just finishing up a mail strike in Canada so James was good enough to work with me on a US ship-to for a pair of his new 9' xxh 36oz twigs. Drove down to NY state last Sat to pick them up, found the tubes ready and waiting. I've got the Innovations Monster Mags too in the same rating class but love the fact that the Tackle Industries are telescopic..so nice to be able to fold down a 9' meat stick down shorter when not in use or when on the road. Not that they'll be not in use very much. Very, very light rod for its length and power rating. Not a clumsy feeling rod at all. Bought these for trollin mostly, but they're light and balanced enough for casting big rubber, big blades, anything. And it's sure nice to see a fat cork grip on a rod that's not silly expensive. You could charge a lot more for these rods, James. They're awesome. This is the 2nd time I've done business with this outfit online and it couldn't have gone smoother. Excellent product and attention to service that you just don't get many places these days. The new line up of rods are wicked, and you won't find a better dude to deal with. Thanks, James, you'll definitely be hearing from me and my buddies again. Sorry if this comes across as shameless plugging, but these are great rods for the price and I would highly recommend them to anybody. Everyday there's a new thread on best rods/reels, and I know that TI has been a great contributor to this site for a long time. You don't have to look much further if you're in the market. Your success looks good on you james, and you do it the old fashioned way with a solid product, great service and a great price.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Your order was one of the harder ones I did over the last month but it was well worth it. Thanks for the positive feedback on the quality and price. My goal is to get quality tackle to guys who don't want to break the bank on musky fishing especially in this crappy economy! Just trying to prove that lower prices does not always mean crap for quality. Sometimes its just a company that is not trying to squeeze every penny out of a product... James

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Jame's rods are awesome. I bought a 9' XH this year with the split grip. At the same time I ordered the same rod with the full grip for my Dad. Since I picked the rod up, it's almost the only rod I've used. Never owned the high dollar customs like Predators, but this is the best handling rod I have used. The tip on it is limber enough for casting lighter baits. I never thought it would be possible to toss a Cowgirl as far as this rod does, and to do it effortlesly on top of that. It also had plenty of backbone. Throws rubber well. I even threw a Pounder a little with the rod. For a dedicated pounder rod, you might want to step up to the XXH, but I was pretty surprised at how well it handles pounders too. All of this for the $110 is incredible. I wish I had an excuse to pick up another one or 5... Maybe I need to get the XXH just to see what it's like. I was a little leery of the XXH being a total broom stick, but I have a feeling James designed it to be a perfect big rubber rod. I seem to remember James saying he's using materials not typically used in building rods. I think that's pretty amazing. Apparently that chemistry degree is working out! This is also not a plug. James has never given me free stuff for complimenting him, even though I wouldn't turn him down if he wanted to... Just kidding, thanks for the great stuff James. Now you just need to build a 7'6" walleye spinning crankbait rod for $100 and I'll be set. Tucker

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Oh yeah, ice rods too! Then I wouldn't have to be a Thorne Bros Ice rod snob anymore! An ice rod that would compete with the Thorne sticks for $30-40 would ROCK. JBush, what is the tip like on your XXH? Does it seem like it has some give in it to keep a bend on a hooked fish? I'm sure they would rocket a pounder like no other. Very tempted to get one for some serious Pounder ripping. I've tried a couple, and still don't feel like I have found the PERFECT pounder rod (probably because you are asking a rod to try to be somewhat limber and VERY powerful at the same time). Posts: 311 Location: Ontario | The tips definitely have some bounce in them. Another thing I really like vs. my Innovations rods is the tip top is an actual large, standard tiptop. The ones on my Innovations rods are these little wee double-footed jobs that have a small eye. I found them to tangle a little plus clog with ice easily. From the quality fat cork butt to the tiptop I'm loving these rods, can't wait to smack a fish with one.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Wait until you see my new trolling rods. They are a carbon/glass mix with metal guides form top to bottom. EVA black foam 14" handles, 6" EVA foam foregrips with black end caps and a Fuji reel seat. Still debating on the color of the guides...Gold, Black or that black/coal look and then all of the accents in aluminum woudl match up with the guides.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | MuskieSwede, That will be my new 2 piece rod for lures up to 20oz. Basically I am "trying" to make a 2 piece rod that will be 9' in length but each piece approximately 4.5' long. This way I can ship a rod to Europe for a decent price vs $200 for an oversizes tube. Also will allow my flying customers more option for Canada and teh rest of the world while still taking a rod with some backbone. This rod has about a 50% chance of making it. That connection point is not hard for lighter rods but for a rod to throw up to 20oz lures will be....interesting. I guarantee you I will be making a few camp fires with broken blanks during this testing (*No I don't actually burn my broken rods...LOL). esoxone, I do have about 20,000 lures that need re-packaged and another 2500 topwaters taht need finished.
