I am quite happy with my current boat a 17 foot tin bass boat with a 50 Merc 2 stroke. However I think I would like to repower. At my age I can no longer cast for 12 hours straight and am doing a lot more trolling. I am thinking 60HP 4 stroke.

What are the Pros and Cons
What motor is beter for long hours trolling 2 or 4 stroke?

4 stroke if you're looking to troll. Yes, the smaller block 2 strokes CAN troll, but if you're looking at the better option, I'd go 4 stroke.

Not sure how much oil a smaller 2 stroke burns through, but with the cost of gas and oil, I'm sure it's cheaper with a 4 stroke.

Even a little more cost upfront for the 4 stroke, I'm sure it will pay for itself over a few years.

Absolutely love my 02 Suzuki 70 Horse 4 stroke. The ONLY downside, is oil changes @ 100 hrs. But changing the oil is pretty darn easy on my Suzi. Lower unit lube, I'm still trying to find a easy way to change.
