Just wondering how many Lakes you guys will fish for Muskies this year ?
Are you staying closer to home because of higher Fuel prices ? Are you cutting back, or fishing more ?
And 1 last question: How many follows do expect this year? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

20-30 lakes, and nearly all of them are close to home, with the exception of LOTW. No changes because of fuel other than possibly hitting the lakes that are five miles away more on the short trips instead of the 25 mile away lakes.

I expect to have several follows.

15-20, less than usual, not because of fuel prices, more of an overabundance of kids in my house. And I expect a follow every cast.

15-20 lakes
fishing about the same amount, fuel prices won't deter me.
follows....in the 40 hours on the water so far we've had about 40 follows....pretty much on pace for 500 or more....
maybe I should try that open water thing....nahhhhhh.

15-20, most lakes will be within 25 minutes of my new house with the exception of Canada.

Shooting for 50 follows and 20 in the boat.

I'll fish about 8-10 different lakes this yr.
Last yr I didn't go as much, but this yr. I'll fish more for sure( If I ever get a break from work)
I've never considered counting/keeping track of follows........... Should I ?

I will probably fish 5 to 7 lakes this year and one river. Only the river is within minutes of my house, the rest are at least an hour's drive. This is about par for numbers of lakes I normally fish in a year. Kinda figured these lakes out and I dont get out enough to take chances a lot on new water.
I will definitely not get out as much as a want, not because of gas prices, but because the kids tie me down. I have yet to chuck a musky lure. I cant fathom the idea of taking my boys musky fishing. My head hurts after an hour with them in the boat. The last time out I told them if they didnt quit fighting I was throwing one of them in. LOL Of course I wouldnt do that, but they were good after that. They are just at a bad age, the middle one wants to do everything the older one does and he cannot because he is not physically able to. The older one bosses him around because he cannot do it right. Hence my throbbing head!!!
I kind of keep track of follows, but it really doesnt matter much. Its nice to have affirmation that fish are there though.

traveling just as much, fishing just about as much. gas prices are what they are, though it'll be nice running a four-stroke motor this year to save a bit on gas and save a lot on oil costs.

i'll fish around 15-18 different lakes this year. i'd probably catch more fish if i spent my time fishing fewer lakes better, but i tend to get bored and like to explore new stuff. a typical trip to MN finds us trying out a different lake every day instead of sticking it out and patterning fish on a couple lakes. maybe this is the year to fish smarter?

of course, that lakes total doesn't include 2 weeks on Lake of the Woods, during which time i'll probably fish areas spread out over 20 square miles of water. 15 mile runs from camp are not uncommon. how many lakes should that count for? 8 days from now i'll be heading for the border with the boat in tow!

About 20 (average year) if I get the time to fish at all.

Lucky number 13 Lakes
After two years of not doing as much the gloves are coming off! Well... as much as they can stretching my 3 weeks off to it's greatest potential.
I'm banking on at least a million follows... on my first cast. Maybe more on the second.

Some of you guys are trouble makers

My chances of catching fish are better if I focus on fewer lakes instead of fishing more lakes. But that isn't always so much fun either. So, I'll probably fish ten to fifteen lakes this year.

10-15 most of the same line-up just less frequently. as a dual citizen (minnesota and wisconsin) i plan to add a couple new minnesota lakes to the standard list, otherwise still workin' like a sharecropper and engaged to a hottie with 8 kids between us makes time on the water quite a bit less ... i'll be fishing icons not trails and expect to convert more follows into eaters and will take pictures with a dslr on auto-mode.

Three lakes in WI all about 160 miles from home and one in Canada for two weeks about 750 miles from home. One in MI about 360 miles from home too but that's not for muskies.

Not cutting back at all on fishing days but they will be grouped together to avoid extra traveling expenses. I've cut way back on everything else like eating out, stopping at bars, higher quality groceries, golfing, and buying new fishing equipment I positively don't have to have. Thanks, oil companies and your record profits. I don't know what I ever would have done with all that extra money.

Follows? None I hope! I want hits and the farther from the boat the better!

I've fished muskies on 4 lakes and a river so far since the opener.

I will probably fish muskies on less than 10 lakes this year.

I do plan on cutting back on a couple of my trips up north this year due to gas prices because I usually drive up alone to meet friends.

Except for LOTW. May hit that twice this year :O)

I have 3 main target lakes I visit, but have another 5 or 6 I would like to try out this year.

Never have recorded contact other than markers and waypoints on the GPS on the gps.

I am up to 13 so far and will likely lose count before the year is over. As for follows with 180+ days on the water those will be extremely high as well.
