I am taking a family vaction to southern wisconsin in early july not for fishing(but I am going to be waking up early mornings to fish). Anyone have suggestions for towns that have things to keep us and the little ones busy for a 5days or so?

I think the dodgeville area could be a good option for you, governor dodge state park has 2 lakes with 1 having muskie's in it. the Frank lloyd wright house is just north of there and I bet that you kids would like that and you aren't too far from madison either. in madison you have a free zoo right on lake wingra and they have boat rentals which could be good, in middleton there is a mustard museum.

I know that there are other things to do but those listed are just some that came to mind

Go to Lake Geneva. Tons of stuff to do & lake Delavan is very close. Tons of panfish, bass, & pike. Would be lucky to get one of the Delavan muskies but if you do it will be big.

You can check out the other free zoo camped outside of the Capitol building in Madison as well.

Yeah, just don't feed the animals outside the Capitol in Madison.
