I have some family that lives on this little lake and they want me to take their kids out fishing this summer. The landing looks like its in tough shape. Can I launch my Ranger 690 there?

I think you could launch it at that landing especially with the higher water. A buddy and I launched his 690 there a couple years ago in fall with lower water. It's a very tight landing and not the easiest, but doable.

I drove by the other week and was wondering the same thing...the launch is horrible and the lot is tight (parking is across the street and in high demand I hear). I will be curious how it works out for you as I would like to fish it due to the proximity, but worried about getting my 620 in there.

Hey Dave,
You should be fine. I've launched my Reata from there.

Good luck.

You guys should be fine it will just be a little tight. The parking is the real issue! There are not that many spots. If it's nice out get there early. It seems like every time I'm out there I see someone fishing muskies that does not have the equipment to handle a fish properly so try to help if you see them get one.

Good Luck Fishing!

Yeah i got her in there... You have to bring rubber boots!!! There is no dock so you have to beach her and then walk in the water a ways.

and yes parking was a nightmare!

Used to put my 620T in there all the time and my buddies 619, and this was before they fixed up the landing. Do not park in a no parking zone because they will ticket you in a heartbeat! Get there early, that landing is a circus of disaster. Seems to draw the worst most inexperienced boaters in the state. Ive waited along time for guys to get there boat loaded on a trailer there.

Would it be possible to get a 20 ft pontoon with a 60 hp 4 stroke on this lake?

I completly agree! I've stopping fishing this lake for the most part due to the type of people it seems to draw

Same here BLAKE, it has become such a hassle to fish there. Besides the problem with the launch, just to many dead muskies floating I have seen due to improper handling of fish. The lake takes an absolute pounding.

That landing is a magnet for the worst inexperienced boaters! I live minutes from the landing and hit it up if I am short on time. That being said it takes a pounding and there are floaters every year out there. My catch rate also reflects it, 5 years ago I boated 7 out of there and every year less with none last year...

I live very near Eagle Lake and used to fish it a lot. Now I maybe fish it once or twice a year. Due to the poor ramp, inexperienced boaters, and the intense usage, I can usually drive down to Minnetonka and get on the lake in half the time. Of course, I'm usually fishing early Saturday mornings and/or right after work.

I went to Eagle Sunday and when i got there these two guys were assembling there new 12' sears model boat right in front of the landing where you unload you boat. I asked them politely if they could move it to the side so i could unload and they gave me a confused look. I remained calm and the one guy finally moved it to the side. They acted like it was no big deal to be assembling there new creek cruiser in everyones way.

You just have to laugh!

Where do these people come from!
