Posts: 2015 | awesome work Brad, a good lesson to be efficient when windows open ..when muskies truly turn on I'm convinced they hunt in packs. Seems like this year has been about hitting windows...you obviously found a longer window than normal, congrats! Edited by IAJustin 8/7/2013 7:22 PM

Posts: 24 | I have to say, I was really depressed for the last 24 hours after you guys pulled that off last night. I was one of the boats that didnt see a fish all night. You shattered our team's dream of winning league. But now looking back at it, I am excited to get back out. You guys basically did what we all are chasing, a dream night where all of the stars align and the fishing is unreal. I give you guys props for figuring out. Crushing the record year long score in one night is mind blowing. If I would have done it, I would have been bragging a hell of alot more than you are now. When someone said they heard you had 8+ plus, I told them "Maybe when he was at LOTW last week". I never thought it would be possible around here.

Location: Contrarian Island | WaubyTackle...one of the many things I've learned is that there are no absolutes in musky fishing...could another team catch 10 or more a night...heck ya, it could be you.... many factors at play in musky fishing and it does take some luck to pull it off...it's not all about the angler, hence why I don't do PMTTs... luck is at play, some don't believe in luck, I do.... lot's of old sayings that held true that night worked...one of the biggest is don't leave fish to find fish.. we simply stayed on em and kept our baits in the water as much as possible for the 3 hour window of pure craziness...I calculated it out with all the hits and follows we had and fish in net we made about 10 casts between hits...2 different x we had fish on the very next cast after releasing one.... I hope everyone (well ok maybe not everyone) on this board gets to have a window like that and and I hope they realize and appreciate how absolutely rare they are....I know I do..good luck rest of season...keep the Positive Musky Attitude up and good things happen.... it was funny as once we got our 3rd fish I said to Mikie, "heck let's get 10. " well we did. you can't do what you don't believe you can do. Edited by BNelson 8/8/2013 7:26 AM

Posts: 231 | Brad, congrats on a awesome night!! I really enjoyed your story! I'm sure you have had plenty of trips where you swear you're going to give muskie fishing up, (I know I have). That's the beauty of this sport. You just never know. Hard work, enjoyment of time on the water with family or friends, positive thoughts, and skies the limit! You proved it right there. Thanks for sharing your special night!! Chas

Location: Contrarian Island | are you serious? if you are, you haven't been to LOTW.... I'd spend the whole summer on LOTW if i could... sure is nice not to have 5 boats within a few casts ....a similiar window could happen up there just as it did here... bigger fish up there too ! ; ) Edited by BNelson 8/8/2013 12:15 PM

That's pretty amazing, since 'ya didn't even mention what LAKE you were on! Jeff it is no secret to all of the locals as to which lake league was on. The spot has been one of my favorites for years. Many moons ago it got little pressure but that changed a long time ago. There are no secrets on highly populated urban fisheries. Since it was during league, I'd guess there were probably about a half dozen other league boats down there when Brad and Mike opened up their can of whoop nice try on the skies.

Posts: 422 | Congrats man.....You are right, there is some luck to it all, but there is no substitute for time on the water and it seems that you put plenty of that in! So it appears that you were rewarded for all the hard work, nice job...

Posts: 1289 Location: WI | Awesome dude! I've been lucky to experience 6 and 9 fish outings. Not sure what caused the 6 fish one, but the 9 day was water temp and baitfish related. Sometimes it's like you can do no wrong, the rest of the time, well, it's musky fishing. Congrats!!!

Posts: 350 Location: WESTERN WI | Nice job! Our league was on new water last night so I was throwing darts blindly, still saw some nice fish. Hmmm, I know league fishing is competitive so I wont expect much detail on presentation, but can u throw us a bone!!! Edited by Got Esox? 8/9/2013 12:50 AM

Posts: 2269 Location: SE, WI. | New moon phases definitely plays into the #s game. Good work Brad. I think musky work like pelicans and corrall their prey, then put on the bag! Monday night, about an hour east of you, I had a window of 8 hits from 9pm- to 10:20pm, boated 3 ski's, 2 large smallies, and missed 3 others which I think we're ski's. had a few 9 and 10 fish days on the woods, but those were 9 hour days. One year ago, 8/12/12, had an outing , boating 7 in 3 hours, 43,45, 50, were the 3 biggest. Ah yes, These are the good Ol days!!! you can't catch them on the couch!!! JD I'd be willing to bet, YOU WERE NOT THROWING GLIDERS!!! Edited by jdsplasher 8/9/2013 9:50 PM

Posts: 686 Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | A few years ago in the Rhinelander league Gene from the musky shop caught 4 fish in less than two hours, all in the lower 40 range, they lost a few in that timeframe as well. Crescent Lake, small area, other boats hammering the same area, congrats Brad savor the moment!!
