Hi guys,

Anybody ever been here? How's the scenery and accommodations? Looking for a place with nice scenery and accomodations. A place to take a date actually, and the place I REALLY would love to go is probably too far to make it work. Never been to Sylvania, so input from any of you guys would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Great camping sites...beautiful area...Over the years I saw 6 bears, countless deer, 2 wolves, many loons, 2 bobcats and 1 mountain lion. It has outstanding small mouth and large mouth fishing as well as excellent walleyes. I would make the trip.

canoe only, barbless hooks, no scented lures ex. powerbait ect..., no live bait- portages from lake to lake, west bear probably has the best lm, mountain and high have good smallies, never tried for walleyes or lakers in the larger lakes- very nice and quite...... IMO get the power boat and fish the cisco chain lol- im just lazy but if your into canoeing its great. make sure your foods in the tree and alot of the walk on sites are pretty nice- coyote on west bear is a sweet site, and raccoon on high is sweet. some real nice bluegills in the "bear lakes" also if you go on the Michigan dnr website you can print out lake maps. my .02 wardens are few and far between though-

I have only been to Whitefish Lake, and loved it. Farthest portage I believe at 3/4 mile (I think). Fishing for smallies was great, and also got some nice 'eyes. Heard Loon is really nice for smallies as well.
