Posts: 50 | I recently picked up a new Calcutta TE 400 at the sportsman show a couple weeks ago. I loaded it with 80 lb braid. I also picked up some new lures, a havana jack, double vibrax, and some cowgirls. I must say, this is by far the best all around reel I have ever used. It pulls double 10s and double 13s like nothing, even with the double paddle handle.. I have this reel on my 8 foot St Croix premiere. I have not tried it on my Big Dawg yet. Before the Calcutta, I had an Ambassadeur 7000i and an Ambassadeur Record 60. The TE pulls the blades better than both the reels. That is saying quite a bit because the 7000 is great for bucktails albeit it is big and heavy. I am now switching over to Shimano. I plan on getting a 400b for everything but bucktails, and use my TE for bucktails. I plan on getting a power handle for my TE. Happy Hunting. I cannot wait for musky opener. June 1st in southern Ontario. Edited by ravigne 4/10/2011 12:49 AM

Posts: 540 Location: MN | If you decide to get the power handle send me the reel and power handle and I'll recess the handle so you don't pull the handle off the threads. Without the recess in the handle your only holding on to 2 threads and It's almost a sure thing you'll strip the threads. I'll do it free of charge just to save you the headache of sending it back to shimano.

Posts: 101 | Muksy Joe how much for two of the power handles and Tim how much to recess a pair? I also have a Calcutta 400B handle which I assume maybe should be recessed as well? Live in Crystal but work downtown. Dan
