Hi There,

Well I'm getting serious Cabin Fever. If i cant go Pike Fishing I want to read about it at least.

We dont have Musky over in Scotland just Pike. Since Esox Angler went bust I have no real magazine to subscribe to. So i subscribed to Musky Hunter just to keep ahead of new lures.

I have several pike books

In-Fisherman, Pike
Jack Pennys, Pro Tactics
Northern Pike and Musky
Just ordered Will Ryans Norhern Pike

Is there any decent ones out there I have missed out. I have most of the UK ones!!!

I looked through my fishing library and came up with a few oldies for you.

Northern Pike Fishing, by Kit Bergh came out in the mid 1970's.

Northern Pike!, by Tom Zenanko came out in 1983 or so.

PIKE An In-Fisherman Handbook of Strategies, came out in 1983.

The one by Bergh is a look at "oldtime" knowledge and equipment, not as detailed as the others, but a good read long ago when I bought it. It is pretty dated by todays' standards.

The one by Zenanko is more like the In-Fisherman book, a little more detailed in presentations and locations.

The In-Fisherman book is probably the most technical of the three, but still a little dated.

They were all entertaining reads and I learned some from each of them as I progressed in my angling skills. I can't garantee you'll get anything out of these books you don't already know, but sometimes it just jogs the memory a little bit.

I'll keep my eyes open for Pike titles, and post if I find any others that might be of interest. Hope you get some useful info from it.

Pike on the Fly and Mastering Pike on the Fly are very good reads. Both are written by Barry Reynolds.

My wife and I are planning on coming over the pond sometime to target pike in Ireland and possibly Scotland. I am really looking forward to it.

I love reading time on the water and the complete muskie fishing guide (2e edition) and musky on the fly.
All tactics work for pike to.

I'd LOVE to read a book on trolling for the huge pike over in Europe. Some of those lakes have unbelievable fish. There must be books (or videos) out that feature these fisheries. Does anyone know of any?

I found this link on a YouTube video:

http://www.anglerskingdom.com/dvd.html

It looks like these guys catch some fantastic pike. Might be worth a shot to take a look at it.

Another good book for fly-fishing for pike & musky is, "Toothy Critters Love Flies." It's available on Amazon and has gotten very good reviews. It's an easy read and coveres all the bases.

@tcbetka
Look for books of Eddie Turner, ET products.
This guy writes about how to catch big pike in England.
