| I'm thinking of putting power poles on my boat. For those of you who have them, I'd appreciate some feedback. They are pricey, so I'm looking for a better justification that just the assistance they provide at the landing when you are by yourself. |

| Short answer I love mine.
Long answer: I use it every day, boat position, trolling applications, drift control, holding to cast at structures, holding off a spot while releasing a fish and then getting a crack at the next fish instead of drifting over it, sight fishing, holding position to let a fish settle before going back for another crack at her, going for a swim, drift control.
It is a great tool |

Location: Kodiak, AK | I've got two and they are a great tool. Many uses, but depending on how often you're able to put them to use will determine their "worth" to you. I'd advise a Wave Pak for each one, and a remote. If you do two, do both on one remote. There's a Y harness you can buy to fascilitate that. Building your own isn't difficult, but for $20 it's almost cheaper to just buy it.
I'd also advise wiring a master power switch ahead of the "up/down" switch. I know two guys personally who've deployed theirs via remote (50' range) while on the highway.

Location: Kodiak, AK | Cool. I've installed two of my own and helped with a couple others so lemme know if you've got any questions on install. It's pretty easy if you're half a mechanic and not afraid to drill, it's pretty easy. |
