Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | When I got my Shimano Trinidad 16NA, I looked at the schmatics and I could not find any spool brakes on the side of the spool on the schmatics, so I called my friend at Shimano and ask if the schmatics where missing the spools brakes and he said the the new Trinidad A have no spool brakes, that they lighted up the spool by over 20 %, which made them not put any spool brakes on the new Trinidad's. The newTrinidad A reels have only a spool tension knob to control overruns. All I can say is my new Trinidad 16NA will out cast my old gold one and I have less backlashes. Good work Shimano, now hurry up with the new low-profile 500 size reel that will go head to head with the TORO, maybe this year at ICAST ??????

Did your friend give you any idea if there will be multiple gear ratios on this reel the way the Revo Toro has multiple gear ratios?

Did your friend give you any idea if there will be multiple gear ratios on this reel the way the Revo Toro has multiple gear ratios? I hope it does, but Shimano definitely hasn't made a habit out of doing that. I hope they just make it to get 34+ a crank (wishful thinking, but it's possible) so it can burn big blades. A big blade burner with the convenience of a low-profile (thumb-bar, levelwind, comfortable) would be awesome.
