Location: N.FIB | whats the longest you think you can go without using your boat without putting stabil in with the gas before the gas goes bad, ethanol gas. |

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | I would go no more than a month with any gas... Ethanol I might be more tempted to put in stabil if it will sit for more than two weeks

Location: Iowa | On my previous boat with a 1999 50hp mariner I usually parked it covered up outside the middle of December. Got it back in the water the middle of March. Always ran 89 octane ethanol mix. I never had a problem with it. Usually no sta-bill either. Always started right up in the spring and ran great all year. I ran that motor 8 years with no gas related problems. 2 times a year I empty the spare gas cans in my garage (for the generator), into whatever needs it and have never had a problem with any of that either.

Location: MN | I tend to agree that it isn't always needed, but I still try to use something. I run my boat 9 months of the year and haven't always used it, typically due to not having it and forgetting it until I go out and cross my fingers that it starts right up. I look at stabil and sea foam as added insurance. Plus sea foam has some cleaning properties when running through the system. The one thing that I always do at the end of the season is make sure the tank is completely full. It has 53 gallons of fuel, and it starts right up each year. And this amount lasts a lot longer than a month typically and I don't have problems. I may just have had good luck. |
