| OK, here it goes. Was able to get out this morning for a few hours.
I lost a monster! She was a Big, big girl. I have her estimated somehere between 55-60". After numerous runs and jumps, my bait came flying out of her mouth! I counted 7 jumps! She wasn't happy. I think she saw me with the net after I got close to the boat..Just not close enough and she started making runs and jumps.
I did everything I knew I should do. Hooks were sharp and everything. This is the second big fish I have lost this year.
I am at a loss here! Does this sometimes just happen?

| Get used to it!!!! The big girls got big for a reason. You must have a great pattern going Tahoe. I got out last night and didn't move any quality. I didn't have much time and the boat traffic was terrible. Had an Alan Alma boat go within 20' of me while fishing Gale. I just let a cast go into her hull and I think they got the message [] . With the luck you've been having you'd better show @ the TCML and win the pot! |

| Ummmm, losing fish happens ALL the time. Connecting with a fish of that caliber is a once in a lifetime experience. My condolences..... |

| Treats,
Will do everything possible to be there Saturday. I am out of town next week for a few days on business, so I may be spending the weekend with the family?
How much do we put into the pot? Want to make sure I bring cash if I make it!
Say - Can you get me directions to the launch area - Maxwell Bay? Never launched out of there. I live in EP.
Yeah, pretty good luck so there. Right before I got off, I had a quality mid 40 inch fish follow but not hungry enough. She was fat too!
The fish I lost was on a double willow spinnerbait that had a trailer hook as well. This is the second time I lost one on this bait!
New lures, hooks sharpened! Ahh well.....
I hope I get her next time!

| Something you should do when they're jumping like that. Next time stick your rod in the water and reel. This will eliminate most of the slack created from a jumping fish and will also help to keep her down. |

|
| I did not keep the rod tip down! I didn't have much slack, but I guess enough for her to come off. I will do that next time.
Let me ask, when the fish is running away from you - do you just keep the rod tip somewhat high, like a 3 o'clock position?
I have lost a few fish running away from me and that is what I have done... |
