Was sitting here dreaming of my next boat! Why in the heck are the storage compartments not lockable? The rod locker is, why can't the other compartments lock? Are there models out there that do?

This would make life really easy when packing up. Load it all up in the boat and lock it!

Right now, I, like many of you, probably wait till morning to put your gear in the boat or you leave in the truck and transfer once you get to your destination.

Tahoe,

Check Cabela's for locking bar kits.

I feel pretty safe, now that I have my new custom cover. Thiefs rarely want to do a lot of work. It takes too much time, causes too much noise, and makes them too nervous. They want a quick, easy grab and run. I think the cover is a huge deterrance to the would be thief.

I'm pretty sure that both Ranger and Triton has lockable storage. Take a look at a bunch of models because I know a lot of them do have that option.

Shep;
Doesn't Lund have something similar to original
that used the same key?I'm starting to think that all
compartments should lock ,but I've never looked into
it.
dennis
ps. are you and Fishgus aware that you both made thought-
ful, perspective remarks in the" 2001 1900 Lund "thread
and they slipped by everyone?

We almost bought a Trition back when times were good! Very nice boats, you can't go wrong. They're as expensive as a Ranger though. They did have stringer problems back in '97 but those issues have been worked out. If you buy used, make sure you check the trailer, they had some issues with the weld studs on a year or 2 (I think it was 99 & 00 model year but not sure.) Give them a look. I also gave your email to my buddie @ Tracker so he'll be contacting you in the near future.

My Lund Angler has Perko lock on the port side locker only. The compartments up front only have pulls. I believe Ranger, Triton, Tuffy, Lund,...etc. offer locks as an option. At the very least, your dealer can install them. Or, you can buy aftermarket. I know you can get the Perko's keyed alike.

dennis b, thank you for the compliment!

Rangers, do indeed have lockable tackle storage. As well as lockable rod lockers. Remember however that any of these compartments can be easily pried open with any pry bar. If you need to leave your boat outside with your gear in it buy an alarm. Problem solved.........[]

Yes Rangers have all lockable storage compartments. Even the cooler on mine. Does anyone have any suggestion for boat alarms?
