looking to buy the shimano calcutta 400TE. any reviews on this reel? looking to be using overall everything on it. mostly bucktails though. im not going to be "burning" them but does this reel bring in those bucktails fairly smooth? is it a smooth reel in general? and do you think there is any better reels other than this?

Best all around reel out there. If you are looking for true quality and consistent performance; you have highlighted the right reel.

I have many of them and as long as I get them serviced once per year, some of them are pushing their seventh season of hard use.

The TE DC models are really something to behold, though they are pricey, pricey, pricey.
