| I think I read somewhere in a post, where someone , mentioned the 90 e-tec being "just 90hp", and that there may be better motors out there. I'm now considering a Navi 165 "SC" with a 90 e-tec (could maybe do some tubing and stuff, where the tiller 165 Navi (70yami) would be tougher to ski and stuff).
My sleds were e-tecs (just sold a '11 800 e-tec.....somewhat finicky and seemed tempermental, my '09 600 e-tec was good). So, I like the e-tec stuff enough to spend 12 grand on a sled with one.......but in an outboard, I'm cautious.......
Urgggg!
Thanks guys.
If I HAD to choose a boat today, it would be a Tuffy Esox, or a Navi 165 tiller (Yamaha's new 70) or a Navi 165 SC with 90 e-tec.

Location: Antigo Wi. | I bought a new boat in 08 with a 75 E-tec on it and love the motor. My brother bought a used Ranger last summer and changed out the motor to a 115 E-tec right away. True to form, the no maintaince claim for 3 years is good. Had mine serviced before I put it away in December and the dealer said everything looked like it was still new. E-tec will be my motor of choice when it comes time to buy a new boat.Plenty of power and good fuel economy. |

Location: WI | You're looking at a great boat/motor package. I bought a Navi 165CS w/ an E Tec 90 3yrs ago and have never questioned my decision. You'll be more than happy w/ your new rig. |

What prop do you have on your etec? How is hole shot and mid-range and top speed? I have a yamaha 90 2-stroke, and am interested in how the etec performs...
