| Went out this morning with Koepp and moved some fish with no takers. Did a small bit of trolling after casting and left the lake early to get back for the Packer game. Thanks Koepp for great time on the water.[:)] Its great to see Smokeys is now posting all the fish you see on their shop board on Pewaukee Lake and making that public on the net. I stopped putting fish on that board years ago, I hated the late night phone calls at home from folks asking for particulars on the fish I caught. But its good to see John is making them availble to the public for new anglers to learn from. I see trolling Phantom's has been a hot pattern. hmmmm http://www.smokeysmuskieshop.com/reports.html Smokey's has many new baits in the shop this summer....too bad I am broke.[:blackeye:] | |||

| Got up at 3 and went north. Caught 3 in an hour with the biggest being 34" and the other two low thirties. All on suicks and when they stopped they stopped altogether. Midday, blue bird skies, and a good southwest wind stirred em up for a brief feeding frenzy. | |||

| Got out for a few hours Saturday evening in the Hayward area and got a 40" on a perch colored Squirko. Then I got a bonus fish...29" Walleye on the same bait.[:bigsmile:] | |||

| The damage was done to my dad's wallet. Went down to shelbyville and picked up his new 1850 fishhawk. Broke the motor in today. Just have to put rod holders on and off we go.[:)] | |||

| I was out on North Twin this weekend with among others, the world famous Jim Conklyn (aka "ghoti"). Blue Bird skies, near calm, conditions from hell! We moved a few fish but usually between 5:00 AM and 6:30 AM. without any takers. There was a 130 person two day tournament this weekend, which the last word I had heard late this morning only had ONE muskie registered![:blackeye:] So we were not alone in our struggles. This was the first time I had got to meet Jim, and fish with him. It truely was a great time in spite of the conditions. One of the highlites of the weekend was the two hour "Northern Lights" display Saturday night, which covered three quarters of the sky at times while we were fishing. | |||

| Guided on Saturday, lakes were up over 2' from terrential rains last week. We had some new structure to fish, bar-b-que grills, lawn furniture, etc....[:bigsmile:] 81/2 hours of fishing we stuck 3 fish...a low 40's, mid 30's and a shorter fish. Got a few pike and a Komokazi Bass as well... Violent Strike Spinner Baits and a Proto-type jerk bait got the action. Mark Musky Adventures Eau Claire, WI | |||

| I got my basement done, mostly.[:blackeye:] | |||

| Blanked on the toilet bowl Friday night and Saturday morning. Went to the MadTown chain Sunday and got a 33" and a 34". WOW is that place green! | |||

| Fished in the Musky Classic tourny in Winchester/Boulder Jct./Presque Isle/Manitowish Waters Fri-Sun. Boated 3 Fish in the Open Division. A 35", 38", and a 39". Didn't register any of the 3 thinking they didn't have a chance, but the stupid fish that won it in that division was only a 37 1/2" at 12 lbs 4 oz.[:blackeye:] I estimated my 39" fish at around 18-20 lbs. Oh well there is always next year to redeam myself and not be so stupid![:(] | |||

| Three days of hard fishing in the Eagle River area with one follow and one hooked who shook free about ten feet from the boat. Tough conditions with all of the storms the hot humid bluebird skies. Always next time. Oh by the way a young boy, about 8 years, old who was staying at the same resort and had never fished before caught a 31" ski on his very first cast ever right off of the pier. I helped him land it and get a couple of quick pictures and back in the water. He was so excited and when we came in that night he was still casting off of the pier. Future muskie addict. | Went out on Pelican Friday night and only moved one fish, but fortunately that one ate, a 43 incher on a TopRaider. Took the wife out on a small Vilas County lake Saturday night. She boated her second musky ever a scrappy three footer on a Super TR, fifteen minutes later I got a 35" on a regular TR. After that release she wanted to go because it was dark. Two fish in fifteen minutes and off the lake we headed, guess we know who wears the pants. [;)] Not only did we have to go but I had to listen to the "mine was bigger" banter for the hour and a half ride home.[:knockout:] | |||

| Got out casting Sunday morning with a pal and we blanked. Got out Sunday night at 7:30 to 9:00 and stuck two. A 36.5 and a 41. Both fish caught trolling. Seems like the fish are still deep. Can't wait for casting to get going, it felt good to do some casting. Bring on Cass Lake!!!!![:p] [;)] | |||
