Posts: 42 | I recently sold my 1987 Tuffy XT160 and got a 1996 Ranger 690. I am hoping the 690 will allow a bit more stability for fishing with the family and will also be more waterskiing/tubing friendly. One of the many winter projects I plan on looking into is a rear bench seat/casting deck. Does anyone know if there is an available option from Ranger or any aftermarket options? I have tried a local dealer, but wasn't confident in the response I got. My ultimate goal is to not only have the bench seat convert to a casting deck, but also be removeable for trolling. Also I would be looking to use the space beneath the seat for tackle sorage. I found one example during my recent search, but I have no details other than the picture below. I remember seeing other similar seats on boats for sale (boat was in TN I believe) during my search for a 690, but can't seem to find any pics from that. I am willing to build a seat, but sure would like see other ideas first. Thanks in advance for the help, Mike Blaise. Attachments ---------------- 1994ranger690e.jpg (56KB - 623 downloads)

Posts: 148 Location: Excelsior, MN | Just a quick FYI --- Just Encase has built a removable Back Casting Deck Box for the Ranger 690. The 690 had some unique challenges with the floor bellying over 1" in the middle. Recent feedback from the Customer --- "Hi it worked out great. I will get some pictures together and send them to you." Hope to receive the pictures referenced in his email soon. His Deck Box is for sale at this time. He is getting a Ranger 620 in January 2011. His buyer is not a Musky fisherman. Just Encase will be building him a new Deck Box for his 620 in 2011. Bob Schmitt

I had one made for my Champion Fishunter when I saw that Champion actually had that as an Option. Deans Top and Canvas in Arkansas made mine for me.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Bob, any idea what your customer wants for his 690 deck box? Does it have a seat base on it? If you can have him pm me with his contact info that would be great. Thanks

I also have a 690vs and this would be great for the kids. I contacted ranger and they did make this at there plant, but is no longer available. The guy said the mold got destroyed, probably from one of there plant fires. I guess we will have to try to find a used one somewhere!!!!

Posts: 42 | I am in the process of purchasing a bench seat and then integrating it into the boat. The goal is to have a back deck convertible bench seat. I'm not sure I can do it properly, but I have stared at it long enough, made some drawings and am ready to take the plunge. I'll keep this post updated throughout the process. Here is a link for the bench seat, I was hoping to get the 48" but I think it will be too tight so I plan on getting the 42". Thanks for the info! http://www.boatingseats.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=102 Decaf
