Heading up to Andy Myer's again in a few weeks, looking to potentially change some tactics for this year....here's the quandry though; luckily Ms. Slamr goes with to Canada everyear, real trooper to put up with me and HAVING to go to Canada every year instead of the Bahamas, but Ms. Slamr fishes when she wants to, and relaxes and reads or just lays out in the bikini the rest of the time....which is a lot of the time!!! IE. I'm going to basically SOLO HUNTING a great majority of the time.....so the question comes in is on a lake with that much structure (Eagle Lake) and spots that nearly ALL look good, but with only one bait in the water do you: a. work each spot meticulously, figuring that you can lure out any fish, hot or cold....OR b. work the run-n-gun approach to cover as much water as possible. This is my 4th year there, so I know a dozen or so good spots, but they aren't your small 30yard or less WI spots, we're talking 100+ yards of a nice weed bed or rock pile....but going slow you couldn't cover too much water, get my drift???
Fast or slow, that is the question....open to any pro with a suggestion...

Slamr, go with the run and gun aproach. First of all get your go to fast moving lure to cover a lot of water i.e. bucktail. Now if you hit a lot of spots and don't even get a follow try to slow down on the next few spot as the day goes along. Then when dinner time comes go back to fast moving lures like buctails and even a topraider.

I think this is your best aproach to go looking for the agressive fish in the am and then during the high sun periods pick your spots apart for those harder to convince girls. Now remember that those follows might not eat that day but there is always tomorrow.

You can also troll some of the time and take advantage of the extra rod as we are only allowed 1 rod per angler in Ontario. Those 100 yrd spots get covered real fast that way. And don't forget to troll the primary breaklines for the real big ones.

The way I see it I don't want to take that slow aproach untill I am sure there is fish there. [:sun:]

Now get out there and stick a slob or two.[]
