Posts: 642 Location: Richfield, MN | Well I have decided to get inot making my own leaders. I have done some research on here about what to use but I would love to here what everyone else is using for materials to make Florocarbon leaders. I have several questions for those that know more about this than I do What should a person use for most lure as far as leader strength. Is there 1 brand better than another What about all the other items needed. What deight should one use for these as well I am in the process of looking at all the different places to buy stuff from right now to see where I can save the most money when buying what I needed. I did find alot of good info in regards to places to look at. I have also sent for catalogs as well. Now another question I have in talking to some people and that is when is it better to use wire leaders verses Florocarbon. If anyone can help me get started in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated as a newbie to the world of musky fishing I am just getting my feet wet into making some stuff myself. 1st some leaders, then some inline spinners and with alot of luck some other types of lures with the painting of those being done by others!! Thanks Mike

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | If you plan on tying them, you can get a great knot at www.leetauchen.com As for where and when for wire, jerks and side-to-side topwaters would be the place to use wire. But then again some feel floro works just as well. As I have stated in the past, I have a two page pdf format file on making single strand leaders, feel free to pm for that file. You should also do a search as this topic has been batted around and there is a good deal of info on this and other leaders kinds.
