Another great early season bait at the Chicago Musky Show. The New Fat Belly Rattler is the most unique rattlebait on the market and flat out the loudest. Can be retrieved full speed or twitched as a glide bait, or both. Also can be cast or trolled. Proven producer all over the musky range. Check it out at the Chicago Musky Show.

Thanks I should have over 10 colors available at Chicago. I finished these baits last year and had them tested by many guys down south, mid west and as far east as PA. Caught great feed back. Gregg Thomas and I had our clients use them heavily in Ky with great luck trolling and casting. When twitched it has great side to side movement with noise. A fast straight retrieve seems to be the ticket on pressured rattlebait waters, loud, lots of vibration with movement different than any other lipless rattling crankbait.

Posts: 572 | Sounds interesting. Can you tell us more about the size and weight, and what conditions a rattlebait is most productive? What is the price? Will these be available after the show? If so, where? I'd be especially interested in learning from anyone testing your rattlebait in Missouri. PM, thanks. Looks like you have a good bait.

Was that a ghost from the past....Was going to call it Hooked Belly Rattlebaits are used mainly for pre and post spawn muskies which are not that interested in eating, noise, speed and vibration cause reaction strikes. On most bodies of water the early season offers the most forage as small one year frye, this period is when they are the most plentiful, whether it be shad, bluegill or perch there's more of them before the large feed up of post spawn. However there are plenty of guys that use them year round using many different presentations. Cold-fronts can also be a time to use the rattlers, vertical jigging works well for some guys. Some guys feel it's not a manly muskie bait and overlook them. Great lure to get kids, wife's and non muskie anglers introduced to the sport. The Fat Belly Rattle has many different uses as well but add in the fact that it glides really well makes it stand out for the rest. You can see all stocked colors at www.tonygrantoutdoors.com or www.kymuskie.com plenty of customs at Chicago, Milwaukee, Michigan and Ohio Musky shows.

Location: Illinois | Just a sample of the colors available at http://www.tonygrantoutdoors.com/pages/lures.php This is the Herpes pattern Fat Belly. Using this pattern is not contagious! Lemon Head (I am a big fan of the
Sexy Shad- When throwing you must sing Right Said Fred's 1991 Hit Single, "I'm Too Sexy" except say: I do my L-turn at the boatside! Pinkie- If you want to buy your wife/girlfriend a bait in Chicago, get this. Do not give her Herpes!
But my favorite is still the Orange Coach Dog pictured in my 1st post! Except where I come from it's called crack, cuz the muskies just can't get enough of that color in turbid water!

Posts: 180 Location: Kinkaid Lake, IL | The Fat Belly Rattler is a perfect bait to throw during pre-spawn. We had action on these baits all of March, especially after the rattle traps slowed down. Tony has some bright colors for that muddy water too! Cool new bait for sure.
