Location: Northern Wisconsin | How important is it to keep the blade(s) spinning on a bucktail during the figure 8? Will it decrease you chances of catching fish if the blades stop spinning? |

Location: Yahara River Chain | Yes of course. The vibration that drew that fish to your lure is no longer there and therefore the fish will not be interested anymore. Of course there will be some that say that it happened to them, but by and large more will have that fish either sink out of sight or peel off.

| Pretty much all I throw is blades and the answer is pretty much.............. No Spin - No Catch. Rules are meant to be broke but it is safer to play by them. Mike |

Location: Lake of the Woods, Morson, Ontario | Definitely keep them spinning...had a nice fish following through some sloppy, stingy stuff in August..my eyes were on the fish when it just stopped and idled.....wondering WTF was going on, I looked down at my bait and a thin, stringy weed had fouled up the blades on the tandem spinner bait resulting in no spin.
The fish was NOT interested in the lure once the blades stopped rolling.
Losing their blades on the turns of a figure 8 is one of the biggest things I notice when I take out people that don't fish for muskies often or are just starting out. If this is a problem for you, a longer rod will really help your cause when it comes to keeping the blades turning through the corners of your figure 8s. |

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | If your blades stop spinning just jerk or pop the rod and they will start spinning again.........and yes if that fish is HOT................it will crush it .
If it didn't eat, than it probably wouldn't have eaten it if the blades were spinning.......... Or not........ Who really knows ???
Maybe It didn't eat because you were FREEKING out or because you were wearing some bright Red, or Yellow Boa, er, ahh, I mean Rain Suit.
