Posts: 130 Location: Menomonee Falls, WI | We again are having a "SUCKERFEST" on Pewaukee Lake Saturday December 4th. Entry will be $100 a boat. Payout will be for 1st and 2nd place with big fish getting their entry fee back. It will again be held at the Sports Dock. Registration will be held at the Sports Dock from 7:00am till 830am. Fishing hours are from 9:00am till 4:00pm. Results and comradery to follow at Sports Dock after. Rules are 3 lines per boat, anything goes (trolling, casting & of course live-bait) and AS MANY FISH as you can catch. Must have digital camera and bump board or stick to measure the fish. We will have a waiver for you and another boat to sign if available. We will look at the pics and waivers at the end of the day. Any questions just post them on here or call (262)312-0056.

Posts: 1220 | I am going to try to make this, and I heard other guys who were out on the water yesterday say they were too.......but suckers are really getting hard to come by and the sizes available are really not much more than a large chub. I am hoping that as the date approaches, you guys will post any info as to where decent meat might be found. Marty Forman

Posts: 271 Location: Oregon, WI | If any of you are coming from the Madison area, there's a bait shop in Stoughton, Lunatics, that somehow has been able to get some good sized (12"+) suckers on a regular basis. Give them a call a week in advance and he will reserve them for you.

Posts: 80 Location: Waukesha, WI | I will probably be out fishing for the last time this year on sat. As far as launches go the DNR launch on the west end was good, no ice and the best i saw last night. There is quite a bit of ice on the east end. Its half open by smokies.

Posts: 1220 | Hey, I am going to take a good look at the lake on Friday afternoon, also take note of anybody that still has some decent meat, but I have a feeling that if this hard cold remains in place, that all the ramps might be shut down by Saturday and the only noise out there will be the wind and the fat lady singing. Posts: 463 | Keep us posted I'm really wanting a reason to take the boat out one last time. I'll be watching, thanks Marty.

Posts: 156 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | I'm hopeful wind will keep the west end open and any ice will get broken up by a few anglers fishing the next couple days. No matter what, we should have the event, it just may need to be moved to Oconomowoc Lake if Pewaukee is unfishable.

Posts: 1220 | Well, you can stick a fork in Pewaukee, cuz she's done! Even though they finally got around to removing the last pier at the Sport's Dock, you could maybe still get in the water there today with a whole lot of help (and getting wet)---but not by tomorrow. You could punch through the maybe 1/2 inch of ice at the West end county ramp, but you'd have nowhere to go as the ice has formed for a good 5-600 yards out from the piers. She's a great body of water, she gave us another great year for which I am truly grateful---but Elvis has left the building! Marty Forman

Posts: 130 Location: Menomonee Falls, WI | Thanks Marty.... I spoke with the Sports Dock and even though it is possible to launch a boat and break ice for 30-50 feet they didn't want anybody launching. With that being said, the event is still a go and yes it has been moved to Oconomowoc Lake. Registration will be done at the launch and will be from 730am to 830am and fishing hours will remain the same (9am to 4pm). If anybody has any further questions feel free to call me at (262) 312-0056. Thanks
